The sewer extension is needed to meet the Environmental <br /> Protection Agency (EPA) mandate to cease and desist the operation of the on -site large <br /> capacity cesspool wastewater disposal system. <br /> Because EPA's deadline to cease and desist large capacity cesspool operations has <br /> expired and County CIP funds will lapse at the end of this fiscal year, the construction <br /> contract must be awarded and executed expeditiously.
