5) Member assignment of applications for review and assignment to categories (February 15) <br /> 6) Members share feedback of their respective reviews (March 2) <br /> 7) Collate and schedule organizations to speak on all their programs in a single interview <br /> (March 7) <br /> 8) Conduct interviews with time between each organization for committee to share comment <br /> (March 17, 21 -22) <br /> 9) Meet to determine award recommendations (March 23) <br /> a) List no award and/or needs further discussion <br /> b) Place each program into its best fit category and sum request amount by category <br /> c) Reconcile those that didn't readily fit into a category on initial review <br /> d) Using priority of category, determine a % total award to each with highest priority <br /> receiving a higher % of available ($1.5M) to lowest receiving the least % of available <br /> e) Develop total $ award to each category based on % of the total <br /> D Reconcile those in multiple categories to reside in only 1 category <br /> g) Reconcile those needing more discussion and complete the no award list <br /> h) By category, discuss each application and determine award by consensus vote. When <br /> not unanimous use the average. <br /> i) Sum the total award by category and overall total <br /> j) Compare the total of award to $1.5M and adjust as needed to not exceed <br /> k) Compare the category total to the category % total and adjust as needed to better <br /> distribute. % total of category is a guideline and not firm <br /> 1) With lots of empathy, compromise, and teamwork the Ad Hoc Committee agrees on <br /> these final awards <br /> 10) Prepare and submit Ad Hoc Committee final report of recommendations (April 4) <br /> Summary: <br /> The grant amounts recommended by the Ad Hoc Committee do not fully meet the need <br /> presented by applicants. However, in these times of great budget shortfalls and declining <br /> donations, all of the applicants expressed their understanding of the challenges confronting the <br /> executive and legislative branches of government. They are determined to continue providing <br /> services to the needs of an ever increasing population. Your Ad Hoc Committee recommends <br /> that we appropriate the allocated $1,500,000 to 91 nonprofit programs reflected in Exhibit A in <br /> the column labeled "FY11 -12 Award ". Exhibit A also details the 8 programs not being funded <br /> (includes the 1 withdrawal) and the last 5 years of awards to these organizations. <br /> Thank you for the opportunity to serve as Chairperson for this Committee.
