The grant's purpose is to improve the department's <br /> ability to respond to violent crimes against women through ongoing specialized training <br /> for the Juvenile Aid Section detectives. <br /> A Specialized Investigative Training Grant account was appropriated for $55,000 in <br /> anticipation of grant funding for FY2010 -11. Earlier this year, the Police Department <br /> accepted grant funds for this program in the amount of $31,298 which was reported to <br /> Council.
