The amendment is as follows: <br /> From: <br /> 3308.05 Federal Grants — Specialized Investigative General $ 23,736 <br /> Training <br /> 010.201.5216.25 Specialized Investigative Training Grant General $ 23,736 <br /> The State of Hawai`i Department of the Attorney General's Crime Prevention and Justice <br /> Assistance Division authorized a $47,438 Specialized Investigative Training Grant to the Police <br /> Department. Earlier this year, the Police Department accepted grant funds for this program for <br /> $31,298, which was reported to Council. In order to accept and additional grant of $47,438, with <br /> nearly identical parameters, the Police Department wishes to appropriate an additional $23,736 <br /> to this account. The grant's purpose is to improve the department's ability to respond to violent <br /> crimes against women through ongoing specialized training for the Juvenile Aid Section <br /> detectives. <br /> Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, came forward and seeks the Council's support in the <br /> acceptance of this grant and the appropriation of funds. <br /> Section 46 -7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, and Section 13- 13(b). Hawai`i County Charter, <br /> authorizes the Mayor to apply for, receive and expend these funds for the Specialized <br /> Investigative Training Grant. <br /> FC Report No. 50 <br />
