REQUEST: <br /> Amend Chapter 18, Article 4 of the Hawaii County Code by establishing a $1.00 cash fare for riders of the <br /> Hele -On bus system. Children under the age of five, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities and students <br /> will be able to ride free of charge. For all other riders, a discount of 25 percent will be provided on a fare pre- <br /> payment program utilizing bus passes or bus tickets. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The proposed bus fare will keep public bus transportation affordable in the County of Hawaii.
