,-( - :°:' '' \,' i ., COUNTY OF HAWAII 4 ' 4 • STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 91 11 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION OF THREE (3) ALPACAS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION FOR USE AT THE PETTING ZOO IN THE PANA`EWA RAINFOREST ZOO AND GARDENS WHEREAS, Tess and Dave Wilkinson, owners of Big Island Alpaca Farm, are donating three (3) Alpacas named Sara, Ginger and Hooch to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and WHEREAS, the Alpacas, with a total estimated value of $30,000, will be utilized at the petting zoo of the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
