'Mt <br /> • • • - .T1 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •���' STATE OF HAWAII <br /> O; , N' ,,1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89 11 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF $5,000 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br /> RECREATION TO SUPPORT THE BIG ISLAND BASKETBALL <br /> OFFICIATING CLINIC <br /> WHEREAS, an anonymous source is donating $5,000 to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Big Island Basketball Officiating Clinic is co- sponsored by the <br /> County of Hawaii, HI -Pal, and the Big Island Basketball Officials Association; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be provided to the Big Island Basketball Officials <br /> Association for travel expenses of the trainers of the clinic; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts <br /> or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution <br /> approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash <br /> donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution <br /> process; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the <br /> acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br />
