YAGONG: Thank you. Aloha, everybody. Thank you so much for <br /> HEARING: being here. This is a public hearing of the Hawai`i County Council in regards <br /> to the Ocean View Property Subdivision. Today is June 14, 2011, 6 p.m.— <br /> well, actually 6:09 p.m., and we are in the West Hawai`i Civic Center here in <br /> Kona. <br /> My name is Dominic Yagong. I'm the Chair of the Hawai`i County <br /> Council. I would like to welcome all of you. Thank you so much for <br /> being here — really appreciate you folks taking your time for being here at <br /> our public hearing this evening <br /> I'd like to introduce the Members of the Council that are here. First of all, <br /> out in Hilo, we do have one Council Member out there — that's Mr. Fresh <br /> Onishi. To my far right we have Council Member Fred Blas, Council <br /> Member Brenda Ford, and Council Member Pete Hoffmann; to my far <br /> left— Council Member Brittany Smart; and to my immediate left, Council <br /> Member Angel Pilago. And, again, my name is Dominic Yagong and I <br /> will be presiding over today's public hearing. <br /> Before I begin to read the agenda here, I do want to thank my colleague to <br /> my left, Mr. Angel Pilago —have taken a really a tremendous leadership <br /> role in bringing this issue to the County Council. Thank you very much, <br /> Sir. <br /> Now, the purpose of this public hearing, as required by Chapter 12, <br /> Hawaii County Code —in accordance with Section 12 -10, Hawai`i <br /> County Code —the purpose of this public hearing is to provide general <br /> details of the proposed improvement as adopted by the Council, and to <br /> provide the public with an opportunity to examine the resolution, project <br /> reports, and other project data. At this meeting, in accordance with <br /> Section 12 -17, Hawaii County Code, the Council shall consider any <br /> protest, objections, or suggestions to the Improvement District. <br /> We just want to remind everybody here tonight that the no Council action <br /> will be taken at this hearing. The Council role is to listen to the public. <br /> So, we are here. We are not going to be engaged in any discussion from <br /> Page 2 <br />
