The amendment is as follows: <br /> Account No.: Source: <br /> 3308.52 Federal Grants -Elder Exploitation &Prosecution General $25,000 <br /> Account No.: Source: <br /> 010.271.5271.827 Elder Exploitation &Prosecution General $25,000 <br /> The County of Hawaii has been awarded a $150,000 federal grant through the State of Hawai`i <br /> Department of the Attorney General. <br /> These funds are for the purpose of enhancing awareness and prevention of elder abuse and <br /> exploitation, and to expedite the prosecution of such cases. <br /> An Elder Abuse and Exploitation Grant account was appropriated for $125,000 in anticipation of <br /> grant funding for FY2011-12. Amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional <br /> funds into this account, bringing the total grant appropriation to $150,000. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent <br /> of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to <br /> be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds <br /> or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers. <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> FC Report No. 83 <br />
