COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 126 11 <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF <br />OCEAN SAFETY EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE HAWAII FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT'S OCEAN SAFETY DIVISION <br />WHEREAS, the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating new <br />Ocean Safety equipment to the Hawai'i Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the equipment consists of four (4) Surftech rescue <br />surfboards, two (2) Zoll automated external defibrillators and eight (8) Recreonics <br />Fanon megaphones; and <br />WHEREAS, this equipment, with a total value of $9,963.36, will be used <br />by the Hawaii Fire Department's Ocean Safety division to facilitate the delivery of <br />safety services, preventive actions and basic emergency life support by Water <br />Safety Officers; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai`i County Charter <br />provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations <br />of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in <br />real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County <br />Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property <br />which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may <br />be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of <br />this donation; now, therefore, <br />
