COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 146 11 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF TEN (10) BINOCULARS FOR THE HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is donating ten (10) binoculars to the Hawaii Police Department; and WHEREAS, the binoculars, with a total estimated value of $3,670, will be used by the Hawaii Police Department to assist with covert operations; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
