No. 148-11 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> West Hawaii Civic Center <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 11:07 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 148-11, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 148-11, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 354, <br /> dated September 7, 2011, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one <br /> fiscal year for a multi-year lease of real property. This proposed resolution will authorize the <br /> Department of Public Works to enter into a multi-year lease for an additional two (2) years, and rent <br /> set at $600 per month, starting on August 1, 2012 and ending on July 31, 2014. The premises is located <br /> at the North side of the West Hawai`i Traffic Facility. This lease property address is 81-6394 <br /> Mamalahoa Highway, Kona, Hawaii; Tax Map Key (3)8-1-016:039 (por.) and the use of a forty (40) <br /> foot storage container located on the site for the purpose of parking vehicles, and for storage of <br /> equipment and supplies. <br /> Council Member Hoffmann addressed the concern that according to the resolution, sufficient funds be <br /> appropriated in future years to run the facility, however, it seems that the real need is for the five <br /> people that would be assigned to the facility. <br /> Director of Public Works Warren Lee appeared before Your Committee and provided information that <br /> a new Traffic Signs and Marking Crew would be assigned to the facility and these positions have been <br /> funded and budgeted for. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 148-11, and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> be <br /> AYES NOES A&E EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> BLAS X <br /> FORD X COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> HOFFMANN X <br /> IKEDA X <br /> ONISHI X <br /> PILAGO X <br /> SMART X BRENDA FORD, CHAIR <br /> YAGONG X FC REPORT NO. 118 <br /> YOSHIMOTO X ADOPTED: OCT 0 5 2411 <br />
