REQUEST: <br />A resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept a grant from the Hawaii State Department of Health to provide <br />services related to the Used Motor Oil Program. <br />To amend the FY11 -12 Operating Budget, Ordinance No. 11 -59, to include an appropriation for the Used <br />Motor Oil Collection Program grant as follows: <br />085.3305.10 State Grants - Used Oil Collection /Disposal $15,000 <br />085.601.5607.30.115 Used Oil Collection /Disposal $15,000 <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />The Solid Waste Division budget for FY11 -12 did not include a grant from the State of Hawai'i Department of <br />Health for the used oil collection program as we were advised that funding would no longer be available. <br />The Department of Health is now proposing to award the Department of Environmental Management a grant <br />of $15,000.00 for FY 2011 -12 for the purpose of conducting the Household Do- It- Yourselfer Used Motor Oil <br />Program education & collections.
