COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 165 11 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A 1985 AM GENERAL CORPORATION, 5 TON CARGO TRUCK FOR USE BY THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S VOLUNTEER FIRE PERSONNEL WHEREAS, the Anekona bull Kanehoa VFD Company, is donating a 1985 AM General Corporation, 5 ton cargo truck, and WHEREAS, the equipment, which was acquired by Anekona bull Kanehoa VFD Company at a recent military surplus auction, is valued at $3,773.54; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Hawaii Fire Department to support the 9 Bravo volunteer fire fighters in Kamuela in both training and fire suppression efforts; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawai'i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai'i accepts this donation.
