No. 165 -11 PLACE: Council Chambers Hilo, Hawaii 96720 TIME: 1:37 p.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawai `i 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 165 -11, reports as follows: Resolution No. 165 -11, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 381, dated September 22, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a donation of a 1985 AM General Corporation, 5 Ton Cargo Truck for use by the Hawaii Fire Department's Volunteer Fire Personnel. Fire Chief Darren Rosario and Anekona Ouli Kanehoa (AOK) VFD Company President Guido Giometti appeared before Your Committee. AOK is a funding mechanism and 501C3 non - profit organization which continues working directly with the county and fire department by providing support and equipment as they are able. Mr. Giometti thanks the Fire Department for training and protection that they provide to the citizens in that area and the rest of the island. Nine Bravo located within his subdivision in South Kohala was also thanked. Fire Chief Rosario thanked Mr. Giometti and AOK for providing the Fire Department with this apparatus. The department is currently working on the apparatus to make it ready for the volunteer fire community. Fire Chief Rosario commented that the apparatus will be stationed at Nine Bravo in Anekona Ouli Kanehoa subdivision in South Kohala. Your Committee thanked the Fire Department and AOK for the donation and their great work. Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13 -12, Hawaii County Charter the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money. A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to Anekona Ouli Kanehoa VFD Company c/o Guido Giacometti, President, POB 7121, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743 acknowledging this generous donation.
