Sako <br />Deputy Director <br />o.• <br />Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the Ka'u High — Pahala Elementary gym & CD <br />Shelter project for $17,900,000 to the Capital Budget. These state funds are authorized <br />by the Governor of Hawaii pursuant to Act 160, SLH 2009, Item K11.02 as amended by <br />Act 180, SLH 2010 for the design and construction of a new gymnasium /civil defense <br />shelter on the ground of Ka'u High and Pahala Elementary School. <br />Time is of the essence to expedite the project. To this end, the Department of Public <br />Works is requesting to waive the Finance Committee review, and have this bill placed on <br />the October 19, 2011 Council meeting agenda. <br />If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Warren H.W.
