Sako <br />Deputy Director <br />The County of Hawaii has been awarded a total of $321,268 in federal funds from Lle <br />State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General for FY 2011 -12. These funds fife <br />for the purpose of supporting the Victim of Crimes Act (VOCA) program. VOCA <br />provides salaries and wages for five staff, sub - grants for direct services to victims of <br />sexual assault, domestic violence, homicide, child abuse, and limited operating <br />expenses. <br />A Victim of Crimes Act account was appropriated for $300,000 in anticipation of grant <br />funding for FY2011 -12. On September 29, 2011, the Prosecutor's Office was notified <br />that VOCA funding was increased from $300,000 to $315,033. Additionally, on <br />September 15, 2011, they were notified that an additional $6,235 was made available <br />for the VOCA program.
