No. 410/Bill No. 119 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 119, reports as follows: <br />Bill 119, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 410, dated <br />October 5, 2011, amends Ordinance No. 11 -59, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June <br />30, 2012. The amendment is as follows: <br />From: <br />010.3303.00 Federal Grants — Volunteer Fire Assistance General $46,457.50 <br />To: <br />010.251.5221.38 Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant General $46,457.50 <br />The bill amends the Operating Budget by increasing the total appropriation in the Volunteer Fire <br />Assistance Grant account by $46,457.50, bringing the total appropriation to $96,457.50. The <br />State of Hawai`i Department of Land and Natural Resources has authorized a $96,457.50, <br />federally derived Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant to the Hawai`i Fire Department. The grant's <br />purpose is to provide for training and the acquisition of equipment as specified under the <br />Volunteer Fire Assistance program. <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent <br />of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to <br />be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds <br />or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br />powers. <br />There was no discussion on this measure. <br />FC Report No. 138 <br />
