COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 199 12 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br />DONATION OF OXYGEN DELIVERY SYSTEMS FOR USE BY THE <br />HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S EMS STATIONS <br />WHEREAS, the North Hawai`i Community Hospital is donating Oxygen <br />Delivery Systems to the Hawaii Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the equipment consists of twenty (20) Emergent Respiratory <br />Products Port-O -Vent CPAP Oxygen Delivery Systems; and <br />WHEREAS, this equipment, with a total value of $32,444.16, will be used <br />by the Hawaii Fire Department's 15 (fifteen) EMS stations plus five (5) spare <br />units, to afford a non - invasive option for EMS practitioners to provide respiratory <br />support through a mask rather than the invasive endotracheal intubation; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br />provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations <br />of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in <br />real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County <br />Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property <br />which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may <br />be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of <br />this donation; now, therefore, <br />
