No SMA permits are required. <br />C. CONFORMANCE WITH STATE AND COUNTY PLANS <br />9. Description of Subject Property: The parcel is located on Highway 11 and Nichols Road. The <br />parcel is flat with modest landscaping around the existing residence. <br />10. Lava Hazard Zone: The United States Geological Survey classifies the Mountain View area, <br />including the subject parcel, as Lava Flow Hazard Zone 3, on a scale of ascending risk, 9 -1. <br />11. Distance from Coastline: The parcel is approximately ten miles from the coast line. <br />12. Agricultural Lands of Importance in the State of Hawaii (ALISH) designation: There is no ALISH <br />designation for this parcel. <br />13. U.S.D.A Natural Resources Conservation Services Soil Service Report soil type: Soils are classified <br />as well drained silty clay loams. The slopes are less than 10% and the surfaces are not stony. The <br />surface soil of silty clay loam is about 16 inches thick it is over about 9 inches of subsoil which <br />covers Aa lava. Permeability is rapid, runoff is slow. <br />14. Land Study Bureau Soil Rating: "N" not classified as parcel is in the Urban District. <br />15. Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) designation: X, Areas determined to be outside the 500 year <br />floodplain. <br />16. Air /noise /water quality: In general the ambient air quality of the subject parcel meets all federal and <br />state standards as evidenced by its designation as an "attainment" area by the State Department of <br />Health, Clean Air Branch. Due to volcanic eruptions the Mountain View is subject to voggy <br />conditions when the tradewinds are not blowing. The proximity to the highway creates a constant <br />noise from the cars passing by. The parcel is supplied with a 5/8" water supply and meter by the <br />Department of Water Supply. <br />18. Natural Resources: Due to its proximity to the highway and the fact that the lot was cleared for <br />previous development, there do not appear to be any endangered flora or fauna. <br />20. Native Hawaiian Rights: There do not appear to be any native Hawaiian customs performed in the <br />vicinity of the parcel. I <br />22.
