COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 179 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 7 OF THE <br />HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br />PARKING METER ZONES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this amendment is to change the parking meter <br />zone from a two-hour rate to an eight-hour rate at the Hawaii County Building located at 25 <br />Aupuni Street, Hilo, to accommodate the public's ability to attend meetings of the County <br />Council, meet with County officials, and conduct other County business without leaving the <br />facility to add more money into the meters. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 7, section 24-291.1 of the Hawaii County <br />Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 24-291. 1. Schedule 39.1. 2 hour parking meter zones. <br />Two hour parking meter zones are established upon those streets or portions of <br />streets described in this schedule upon which the parking of vehicles shall be regulated by <br />parking meters at the rate of twenty cents per hour or a flat rate for up to two hours <br />pursuant to section 24-216.01: <br />(a) Hamakua <br />(b) North Hilo <br />(c) South Hilo <br />[k47 The C + Building pafking lot at the eemer- of A,,,- uni Street and D.,,,. h <br />Street, jur-ing the regular- war -king 1,o rs of the County.] <br />(d) Ka`u <br />(e) Kohala <br />(f) Kona <br />(g) Puna" <br />SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 7, section 24-292 of the Hawaii County <br />Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 24-292. Schedule 40. 8 hour parking meter zones. <br />The following areas are designated as maximum eight hour parking at the rate of <br />five cents per hour: <br />(a) Hamakua <br />(b) North Hilo <br />
