REQUEST: <br /> Request approval to accept a $5,000.00 mini-grant from the Hawai'i Partnership to Prevent Underage <br /> Drinking (HPPUD) Statewide Coalition. The Partnership is funded through a grant with the <br /> Dept. of Health -Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division of the State of Hawai'i. This is a one-time, <br /> non-reimburseable award. <br /> We request a waiver from the Finance Committee so that this may be heard at the April 4, 2012 Council <br /> meeting. Approval for funds is needed so that we may encumber the funds prior to the April 25, 2012 <br /> deadline. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> To assist in the sustainability of the D.A.T. (Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco)Awareness Program a video called <br /> "If I Neva Do D.A.T."will be created by student-athletes from Keaau High School. It will be composed of a <br /> series of vignettes highlighting the consequences of using alcohol, tobacco and drugs. When completed, the <br /> Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF)will share the video with all participating schools and their feeder <br /> schools.
