COUNTY OF HAWAII :,-t \'S,:', .I STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 237 12 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF <br /> FIRE RESCUE EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE HAWAII FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT'S FIRE RESCUE AND OCEAN SAFETY DIVISIONS <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating Fire Rescue <br /> Equipment to the Hawaii Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment consists of the following: <br /> Quantity Description Cost <br /> 2 Arizona Vortex rappelling systems $ 1,645.00 <br /> 7 Cabela's Gore-Tex parkas and bibs $ 1,895.24 <br /> 1 14" cut-off saw $ 1,880.25 <br /> 7 Rope rescue kits and bags $ 2,965.00 <br /> 2 Garmin GPS units $ 1,007.98 <br /> 7 Swift water vests $ 2,635.83 <br /> 2 Rescue boards $ 2,350.00 <br /> 1 Rescue boat tow bar $ 3,677.93 <br /> TOTAL: $18,057.23 <br /> ; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment, with a total value of$18,057.23, will be used by the <br /> Hawai'i Fire Department's Fire Rescue and Ocean Safety Divisions; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that <br /> the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities <br /> or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, <br /> Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations <br /> of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures <br /> of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; <br /> and <br />
