.../e,_:--J.Y Oik ,i <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •_ .= STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 260 12 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF <br /> FIRE RESCUE EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE HAWAII FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT'S FIRE RESCUE AND OCEAN SAFETY DIVISIONS <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating Fire Rescue <br /> Equipment to the Hawaii Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment consists of the following: <br /> Quantity Description Cost <br /> 1 Thermo Imager $8,098 <br /> 1 Arizona Vortex rappelling equipment $6,755 <br /> 15 Foul weather gear parkas and bibs $4,895 <br /> 1 CMC Rescue Multi-purpose device $1,645 <br /> 15 Elbow pads $225 <br /> 15 Knee pads $300 <br /> 15 Safety goggles $600 <br /> 1 Spine board $680 <br /> 1 ATV ramp $300 <br /> 6 Binoculars $960 <br /> 1 Water rescue manikin $469 <br /> 4 Extrication tools $199.96 <br /> 1 Rescue stabilizing "cribbing" $388.27 <br /> TOTAL: $25,515.23 <br /> ; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment, with a total value of $25,515.23, will be used by the <br /> Hawaii Fire Department's Fire Rescue and Ocean Safety Divisions; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that <br /> the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities <br /> or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, <br /> Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations <br /> of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures <br /> of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br />
