No. 723/Res. 260-12 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai <br /> TIME: 1:38 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 260-12, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution 260-12, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication <br /> No. 723, dated May 14, 2012, authorizes the acceptance of fire rescue equipment, with a total <br /> value of$25,515.23 from the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation. This equipment will be used <br /> by the Hawaii Fire Department's Fire Rescue and Ocean Safety Divisions to provide for the <br /> safety of our Fire Department personnel and to facilitate the safe delivery of rescue services to <br /> the public. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the <br /> County, may accept gifts or donations of money. <br /> Chair Brenda Ford relinquished the chairmanship to Vice-Chair Dominic Yagong, and he <br /> assumed chairmanship of the Finance Committee. <br /> Fire Chief Darren Rosario appeared before Your Committee. Fire Chief Rosario provided details <br /> and how this donation will be used to provide for the safety of personnel and facilitate safe <br /> delivery of rescue services to the public. This equipment will be used by the Kailua-Kona and <br /> Waikoloa Fire Department's Fire Rescue and Ocean Safety Divisions. <br /> There was no further discussion on this matter. <br /> A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to Laura Mallery-Sayre, Daniel <br /> Sayre Memorial Foundation, P.O.
