FC -40 Page 2 August 14, 2012 <br />Comm. 795: AUTHORIZES THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A SUPPLEMENTAL <br />(Res. 284 -12) AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS, <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM, HAWAII HOUSING FINANCE AND <br />DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46 -7, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF THE NA KAHUA HALE O ULU WINI PROJECT, FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE <br />KALOKO RENTAL HOUSING PROJECT <br />Funds would be used by the Office of Housing and Community Development for the construction <br />of one additional affordable rental unit for the Na Kahua Hale O Ulu Wini project. <br />Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B /R) <br />; and <br />(Bill 283) AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 12 -86, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2013 <br />Appropriates revenues in Federal Grants — Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) <br />($400,000); and appropriates same to NSP — Na Kahua Hale O Ulu Wini Project. <br />Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B /R) <br />Comm. 796: AUTHORIZES THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF STATE FUNDING <br />(Res. 285 -12) APPROPRIATED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE PURSUANT TO ACT 106, SESSION <br />LAWS OF HAWAII, 2012, FOR HAWAII COUNTY'S JUSTICE REINVESTMENT <br />INITIATIVE PROGRAM <br />Funds would be used by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office for the Justice Reinvestment Initiative <br />program to enhance victim notification, restitution collection, and victim safety planning. <br />Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B /R) <br />; and <br />(Bill 284) AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 12 -86, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2013 <br />Appropriates revenues in Justice Reinvestment Initiative ($303,177); and appropriates same to <br />Justice Reinvestment Initiative. <br />Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B /R) <br />Comm. 797: AUTHORIZES THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI -YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />(Res. 286 -12) PROPERTY OWNER OF THE PROJECT SELECTED FOR THE SECTION 8 PROJECT <br />BASED CERTIFICATION PROGRAM <br />The purpose of the Section 8 Project -Based Voucher Program is to encourage property owners to <br />make available rental housing units to low- income families that are not within the current housing <br />fair market rents. The Office of Housing and Community Development would like to assist 79 <br />units in the County of Hawaii under the funding available for this purpose, which include the <br />following projects: Na Kahua Hale O Ulu Wini located in Kailua -Kona (39 vouchers), E Komo <br />Mai located in Hilo (11 vouchers), and the proposed Kamakana Senior Residences located in <br />Kailua -Kona (29 vouchers). <br />Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B /R) <br />
