PC -30 Page 2 September 18, 2012 <br />Comm. 843: <br />(Res. 303 -12) <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Comm. 699: <br />(Bill 250) <br />Comm. 699.1: <br />URGES THE 2013 HAWAII STATE LEGISLATURE TO REPEAL CHAPTER 171C OF <br />THE HAWAII REVISED STATUTES (HRS) TO EFFECTIVELY ABOLISH THE PUBLIC <br />LAND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />States the people of the County of Hawai`i realizes the detrimental effect that HRS 171C will <br />have on the land, ocean, environment, and the avoidance of many of the zoning and subdivision <br />laws, which HRS 17IC may ignore, and have requested assistance from the County Council to <br />support its repeal. <br />Intr. by: Ms. Ford <br />AMENDS CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE 7, DIVISION 2 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br />(2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED) TO INCREASE RESIDENTIAL DENSITY, INCLUDING <br />PARKING REQUIREMENTS, WITHIN CDH, DOWNTOWN HILO COMMERCIAL <br />DISTRICT <br />Initiates amendment to Chapter 25 (Zoning Code), article 7, division 2, section 25-7 -22, relating <br />to permitted use in the CDH district by reducing subsection (a)(16 and 17) maximum density of <br />dwelling or rentable unit from 1,000 to 500 square feet; and adds a new section to be appropriately <br />designated "Required number of parking spaces" for each residential dwelling having a maximum <br />density of 500 square feet of land area per rentable or dwelling unit within the CDH. <br />Intr. by: Mr. Ikeda <br />Referred to Planning Director May 16, 2012 <br />;and <br />From Mayor William P.
