No. 17/Bill No. 4 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 2:31 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 4, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 4, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 17, dated <br /> December 4, 2012, amends Ordinance No. 12-86, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of <br /> Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. The amendment is as follows: <br /> From: <br /> 010.3308.55 Federal Grants— State Homeland General $ 119,487 <br /> Security Program FY 10 <br /> To: <br /> 010.241.5241.68 State Homeland Security Program FY 10 General $ 119,487 <br /> The State of Hawai`i Department of Defense is providing $188,000 of additional federally derived <br /> funding to the County of Hawai`i Civil Defense Agency for their FY 2010 Homeland Security Grant <br /> program. These funds will be used to purchase specialized equipment to enhance the capability of State <br /> and County agencies to prevent and respond to incidents of terrorism and to support"all hazards" <br /> catastrophic preparedness initiatives. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of the <br /> Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken <br /> pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> FC Report No. 2 <br />
