BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> This donation was given to support the Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Bureau. <br /> These funds are to help pay for EMS tablet computers for these operations, which will provide critically <br /> needed mobile computer devices. <br /> The EMS Bureau is directly aligned with the Emergency Operations Division and provides program support <br /> and coordination. The coordination of training for Emergency Medical Technicians and Mobile Intensive <br /> Care Technicians is one the essential functions carried out by the EMS Bureau. In addition the EMS <br /> Bureau participates in the development of recommendations relating to program budgets, equipment <br /> acquisition, policy, and procedure establishment and also acts as the department's liaison with the many <br /> health care agencies of our community.
