REQUEST: <br /> Please prepare a resolution authorizing the County of Hawaii, Fire Department to enter an agreement with <br /> the U.S. Department of the Army to use the Kilauea Military Camp (KMC) fire station by a license for a term <br /> of five years beginning September 15, 2010 and ending August 31, 2015. <br /> The consideration for this license is the maintenance of the premises for the benefit of the general public as <br /> described in the proposed license. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Hawai'i Fire Department's Volcano Fire Station is located at KMC, which is on lands of the United <br /> States, and Council approval is requested to continue to use Building 59 (with 4,000 square feet of space) <br /> for maintenance and operation of a fire station. The License was proposed by the U.S. Army Corps of <br /> Engineers to formalize the use of the station.
