Approval of an Appropriation Ordinance for the <br /> 2013 Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program <br /> The State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations <br /> (DLIR) notified the Office of Housing and Community <br /> Development (OHCD) that the County would receive <br /> approximately $1, 521, 232 . 00 for its Program Year (PY) <br /> 2013 WIA Title I funding allocation. The funding <br /> allocations for the WIA Programs are: <br /> Administrative Pool Funds : $ 152, 121 . 00 <br /> Adult Program Activity Funds : 495, 316. 00 <br /> Dislocated Worker Prgm. Activity Funds: 405, 276. 00 <br /> Youth Program Activity Funds: 468, 519. 00 <br /> Total Funds: $ 1,521,232 .00 <br /> The WIA Title I Program requires that the Hawaii <br /> County Workforce Investment Board (HCWIB) approve the <br /> County' s WIA 2013-14 Annual Plan. The OHCD <br /> anticipates HCWIB and DLIR approval of the WIA 2013-14 <br /> Annual Plan before June 30, 2013 . <br /> In anticipation of the DLIR' s approval and in order to <br /> administer the WIA programs beginning July 1, 2013, <br /> the OHCD will need an appropriation ordinance to <br /> expend the PY 2013-14 funds . <br /> No County General Funds are involved. The ordinance <br /> sets up the proper accounts to receive and expend the <br /> WIA funds . <br /> 2148hnmf <br />
