` <br /> 'o°°M r of \,17. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII :... ,5f,A:• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> BILL NO. 97 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 11, DIVISION 1, SECTION 24- <br /> 302 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), <br /> RELATING TO THIRTY-FIVE MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT ON PRIVATE <br /> STREETS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. The purpose of this measure is to establish speed limits in the Hawai'i <br /> County Code for the Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision so that speed limits can be properly <br /> enforced by the police. Pursuant to Section 24-2 of the Hawai`i County Code, the County shall <br /> not he responsible for the maintenance and repair of any private street, highway, or thoroughfare <br /> when it imposes or enforces traffic regulations and highway safety laws on that private street, <br /> highway, or thoroughfare. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 11, division 1, section 24-302, schedule 6 (Reserved), <br /> of the Hawai'i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 24-302. Schedule 6. [Reserved.] 35 mile per hour limit. <br /> A speed limit of thirty-five miles per hour is established as set forth in this schedule upon <br /> the private streets or portions of private streets as follows: <br /> (a) Hamakua <br /> (b) North Hilo <br /> (c) South Hilo <br /> (d) Kali <br /> (e) Kohala <br /> (f) Kona <br /> (g) Puna <br /> ( ) Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision, Shower Drive, Kaloli Drive, Paradise Drive <br /> and Maku`u Drive." <br />
