BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> This project has been expanded to improve thirteen (13) additional intersections, by <br /> widening and adding left-turn pockets, along the Mamalahoa Highway, in the town of <br /> Waimea, South Kohala, Hawaii. This is an increase in the appropriation to allow the <br /> consultant design services. The $640,000 appropriation for Federal funding is needed <br /> for the planning, design and engineering of the project.
