BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />Pursuant to Rule 2 -3E of the Rules and Regulations of the Liquor Commission of the Department of Liquor <br />Control of the County of Hawai'i, State of Hawai'i, the Director is authorized to "designate a portion of fine <br />monies collected for use in programs to promote compliance to liquor laws. Such programs may include, but <br />is not limited to enforcement, public service announcements, promoting responsible drinking and driving, <br />youth programs and education." <br />Continue public programs by assisting with funding for: <br />1) Mayor's Traffic Safety Program - $5,000.00 <br />2) Hawai'i County Office of Management Project Assistance Request from The Pantry - $4,962.32. <br />Funding will be used to assist with travel costs incurred by The Pantry's Friday Night Crew (FNC) Youth <br />Group. This group has played a key role in Hawai'i County's underage drinking and drug use prevention <br />for the last several years.
