Vice President Onishi informed the Committee that Hawaii County has <br /> nominated Hawaii County Councilmember Poindexter to the serve as the <br /> HSAC representative on the Task Force. <br /> Hawaii County Councilmember Poindexter expressed interest in serving <br /> as the HSAC representative to the Task Force. She informed the <br /> Committee that her education, background and expertise in the healthcare <br /> industry make her an ideal candidate to serve on the Task Force as the <br /> HSAC representative. <br /> Maui County Councilmember White expressed interest in serving as the <br /> HSAC representative to the Task Force. He informed the Committee that <br /> he was a state House of Representative for five years at the Hawaii state <br /> Legislature and brings state legislative expertise and relationships to his <br /> nomination. He opined that the EUTF presents the biggest financial <br /> challenge for the state and counties as employers. <br /> The Committee recessed at 10:20 a.m. <br /> The Committee reconvened at 10:39 a.m. <br /> Treasurer Victorino made a motion to approve Maui County <br /> Councilmember White as the HSAC representative on the Task Force. <br /> Vice President Onishi voted nay. President Rapozo reminded the <br /> Committee that section 12 of the HSAC bylaws require that all actions <br /> taken at Committee meetings be approved by unanimous vote. President <br /> Rapozo informed the Committee that Kauai County Council Chair Fufaro <br /> nominated Maui County Councilmember White to be the HSAC <br /> representative to the Task Force which was subsequently approved by the <br /> Kauai County Council. He clarified that at the time of Kauai County <br /> Council's approval of Maui County Councilmember White's nomination, <br /> Hawaii County Councilmember Poindexter was not a nominee candidate. <br /> Hawaii County Councilmember Poindexter withdrew her candidacy and <br /> instead requested that she serve as Maui County Councilmember White's <br /> alternate on the Task Force. <br /> The Committee approved Maui County Councilmember White as the <br /> HSAC representative on the Task Force and Hawaii County <br /> Councilmember Poindexter as his alternate. <br /> VIII. ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> A. Schedule next meeting. <br /> The next Executive Committee meeting was scheduled to be held on <br /> November 27, 2013 at Honolulu Hale. <br /> 5 <br />
