No. 627/Bill No. 189 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers,Kona <br /> TIME: 1:30 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Human Services and Social Services,to which was referred Bill No. 189 reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 189,transmitted by Steve Arnett, Housing Administrator,via Communication No. 627 dated January 16, <br /> 2014 is an amendment to Chapter 11, Article 1, Section 11-8 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br /> amended) Relating To Affordable Housing Policy. <br /> This bill amends the Hawai`i County Code to add that a donation of finished lots with infrastructure shall now also <br /> be entitled to a density bonus that increases the total number of residential units that may be constructed on the site <br /> by ten percent, compared to the number of units otherwise allowable. <br /> There were no statements from the public. <br /> Brenda Ford indicated it should be clear as"to whom" shall receive the donation, and that the donation should be <br /> made to the housing agency,with the housing agency then working with a contractor.
