• In 2008, there was additional overtime cost for election employees. These <br /> employees verified voter information for the "Lowest Law Enforcement Priority of <br /> Cannabis Ordinance" which resulted in working nights and weekends. <br /> • In the 2010 General Election there were 19 Charter Amendments that were <br /> placed on the ballot. As a result a second ballot card needed to be printed which <br /> increased printing cost for that election year. <br /> • In the 2008 and 2010 Elections the County was responsible for both the Primary <br /> and General Elections which increased the cost. <br /> • In 2012 the County of Hawai'i did not conduct the General Election. <br /> Every election cycle has different costs and expenditures.
