.. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 362 14 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br /> YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR <br /> AGREEMENT FOR THE PUCHASE OF SOFTWARE AND LICENSING FOR THE <br /> DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLGY <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease <br /> or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal <br /> year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Information and Technology is in the process of <br /> replacing the majority of computers used by County employees because they utilize <br /> legacy operating systems which are obsolete and no longer supported by Microsoft <br /> Corporation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the replacement computers will utilize Microsoft Office 2013 as their <br /> primary desktop application; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement to <br /> purchase this software and the associated license agreements for the replacement <br /> computers indicated above; and <br /> WHEREAS,by purchasing this software and licensing by way of the three (3) year <br /> Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, the County will realize a significant savings in software <br /> costs, plus additional, future savings when newer versions of this software will be made <br /> available at no additional cost during the life of the Enterprise Agreement; now, <br /> therefore, <br />
