a <br />March, 1996. The survey revealed no unusual anchialine species in either ponds and <br />that all species encountered are common in the West Hawaii anchialine biotope. <br />15. Archaeological Resources: In 1996, an addendum archaeological survey was <br />conducted on the subject property by Paul H. Rosendahl Inc. Two sites of Hawaiian <br />petroglyphs, a small, modified anchialine pond and a larger, modified b -lobed <br />anchialine pond were identified as significant for their informational content and <br />should be preserved. An archaeological preservation plan will be submitted prior to <br />any land altering activity or development. <br />16. FIRM: The property is immediately adjacent to the shoreline is located in the Flood <br />Zone VE -8. A strip of immediately inland is designated AE -7. The remaining two- <br />thirds of the property is located in Zone X, outside of the 500 -year flood plain. <br />17. Surrounding Zoning/Land Uses: The subject property is bordered by the Wailokoa <br />Beach Resort to the north and west; to the east are lands zoned Open and Hotel <br />(V-1.25). <br />PUBLIC FACILITIES AND SERVICES <br />18. Access: Access to the site is off the Queen Kaahumanu Highway via a private road <br />off of Waikoloa Beach Drive. <br />19. Water: Water is currently available to support the project from an agreement with <br />the Waikoloa Resort Utilities, Inc. <br />20. Wastewater: Wastewater generated by the proposed development will be collected, <br />treated and disposed of by a wastewater treatment system. which meets all of the <br />State Department of Health standards for a private wastewater treatment system. <br />21. Utilities: Electrical and telephone service are available to the property. <br />22. Protective Services: Police protection is provided from its Waimea stations. Fire <br />Protection is provided from the Kohala Coast Fire Station. Emergency medical and <br />paramedical services are also provided by the Hawaii County Fire Department. <br />AGENCIES COMMENTS <br />23.
