The Board is expected to provide an additional $3,100,000 to the Hawaii County Police Department to enhance this service. Funds will be used towards increasing the Pictometry Imagery for its E911 system, which gives police personnel (dispatcher and officers) responding to a call, the capability to visualize the surrounding areas, to upgrade and maintain the outdated CAD/RMS system to the Next Generation E911 system, and for monthly travel expenses in order to attend E911 Wireless meetings to remain current with the system. The current FY 2013-14 Operating Budget has a$1,872,000 appropriation. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget to increase the Wireless Enhanced 911 System account by $3,100,000 for a total appropriation of$4,972,000. Please waive this bill from the Finance Committee, and place it on the May 13, 2014 Council Agenda in order to expedite this matter.
