No. 376-14 PLACE: Council Chambers Kona, Hawaii TIME: 10:50 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 376-14, reports as follows: Resolution No. 376-14, transmitted by Deputy Corporation Counsel Joseph Kamelamela, via Communication No. 806 dated April 2, 2014, accepts the donation of Lot B-2 situated at Kaiwiki, District of South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, being Tax Map Key: 2-6-010:067 (por.), from Diane Copen Ford and Gary William Vannatta. The property owners wish to donate the above-mentioned parcel, consisting of approximately 757 square feet, to remedy a County paved road encroaching onto the property. Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of real property. Council Member Poindexter and Kanuha both spoke in support of this donation and expressed their gratitude to Ms. Copen Ford and Mr. Vannatta. Senior Deputy Corporation Counsel Joseph K. Kamelamela appeared before Your Committee for questions. He confirmed that he did not know the exact value of the parcel being donated. A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to Diane Copen Ford and Gary William Vannatta, 26 Kaiwiki Road, #2561A, Hilo, Hawaii 96820, acknowledging this generous donation.
