No. 436-14 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:30 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 436-14, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 436-14, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 894 <br /> dated May 15, 2014, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal <br /> year for a multi-year lease of real property. <br /> The resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a First Amendment of Lease for a two-year extension <br /> for Unit A-2, Phase I of the Hilo Iron Works Building, TMK: 2-2-001:030, at a cost not to exceed <br /> $3,273.83 per month. <br /> Council Member Wille spoke in support of the resolution. She stated that she would like to see Mass Transit <br /> acquire a permanent space, particularly a County-owned property. <br /> Mass Transit Administrator Tiffany Kai appeared before Your Committee for questions. She stated that this <br /> is an extension of the existing lease to allow more time for Mass Transit to construct a new base yard facility. <br /> Ms. Kai included that a current parcel of land is being approved with the State of Hawai`i Department of <br /> Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) as a possible site. <br /> Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawai`i County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation requiring <br /> payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be <br /> made or approved by resolution. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 436-14, and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> sc <br /> AYES NOES ABS EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> EOFF X <br /> FORD X COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> ILAGAN X <br /> KANUHA X <br /> KERN X <br /> °•• <br /> ONISHI X <br /> POINDEXTER X VALERIE T.
