Registered letters and\ )porting evidence have been sent,;eatedly to 18
newspapers, government officials and agencies (including Presidents Bush and
Clinton, Attorneys General Warren Price and Dan Lungren, Governors Pete
Wilson and John Waihee, the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Tax Court,
CNN, Time Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, Honolulu Star - Bulletin, Maui
News, Humboldt County News Service, South Maui Times, countless radio stations,
etc.) in a due diligent process of establishing a public record of Truth, over a
nine year period. 6, 12„ 24 • 31,34, 35, 55, 5658
Unaccountable failure by U.S. government officials to acknowledge the truth
about Cannabis, has led me to repeatedly individually challenge anti- Natural
statutes prohibiting Cannabis agriculture, manufacture, and trade. Through
credible education and non - violent public agricultural disobedience, I have
taken individual responsibility for the truth about 'marijuana'. I have planted
Cannabis publicly in the United States twice, so far 26.35
I formally challenged the Attorneys General of Hawaii and California to debate
the Constitutionality and rationality of illegal statutes prohibiting Cannabis
cultivation, manufacture and trade. 31 I sent clear, concise, registered letters to
local, state, and federal officials, well ahead of time, demanding to be arrested
for something that can't possibly be against the law.;) I was roundly ignored
by the government both times, but received enthusiastic support from other
environmental activists, the general public, people in the media, and the
police.
Torn Soldiers
Every police officer I have ever talked with about Cannabis, has agreed that
Cannabis prohibition does more to damage society and themselves individually,
than use of `marijuana' itself. B' 29.30' 48 Before I planted in Hawaii, one of the native
Hawaiian cops lectured me over the phone, about the 5000 year old history of
Chinese herbal medicine, with obvious frustration straining his voice, choked with
brotherly compassion. • -
After Hawaii's top "' marijuana' cop" retired, Solomon Lee wondered publicly,
"How can IQ many people be wrong ? ", weighing individual accountability
against the truth about hundreds of Island families, whose lives he "busted"
during his illustrious career.
In Hawaii, the day after I planted, I phoned the Chief of Police and the County
Prosecutor to tell them I was planting at home. That afternoon a helicopter carrying
two plainclothes "suits" came to my house, hovered ominously as I photographed
them filming me transplanting Cannabis seedlings. After they flew away there was
no other response of any kind from either of the Attorneys General whom I
challenged. After I planted publicly in Hawaii, Warren Price declared a peculiar
victory in the Island "drug war" and quit his job as "drug czar" seven days later. 47
Individual Tax Revolt
Because I have actively questioned participation in the insidious subversion of
agricultural freedom in my homeland, I have been fined $35,000 in U.S. Tax Court
as a "tax protester" posing "groundless and frivolous arguments" 6 . 38 . Reasoned
inquiry, resulting from exhaustive research of the U.S. Constitution, I.R.S. Tax Code
and other legitimate references, were judged to be "arguments" .
Obvious economic relationships between the U.S. Department of the Treasury's.
Tax Court and the Internal Revenue Service invariably compromise impartial
judicial opinion. 4,15, 38, 42,48,49, 30 Appeals and jury trials are not allowed in tax
cases. I see no justice in an unobjective opinion, and will not willingly honor
one. While I trust the power of truth to be greater than we can imagine, it must
be heard by many people, very soon.
