On behalf of the heg herb Cannabis, and others wh0)not speak for 19
themselves, I appeal.:, the United Nations to reverse fren<.ed "drug war"
activities. If the International Declaration of Human Rights means anything at
all, then it is the responsibility of the UN to coordinate global dialogue
concerning the wisdom of continued Cannabis prohibition. Freedom to
culturally integrate this plant, and an end to prohibition - addiction in the
United States, will prove to be the 'gateways' to environmental, social, and
economic stability all over the world.
State of Grace
In the current state of grace, during which major global systems continue to
function despite man's reckless behavior, the potential for evolving
economically toward a lasting peace is only as great as our respect for, and
willingness to work harmoniously within the rhythms of Nature.
In the Spring of 1999, I will begin an open and public biodynamic agricultural
project in my native soil, Humboldt County, North California. It will be the
third time I publicly, formally, heal Cannabis prohibition with individual
civil obedience of Natural Law. All Our Relations are welcome to support
planting and harvest celebrations, to be announced.
Investigating biodynamic and other organic agricultural methods, I will
harvest Cannabis for fuel, food, medicine, cloth, paper, etc. As a farmer and
holistic healer, I feel that peaceful, Natural, agricultural obedience is called
for, considering the severity and immediacy of the threats that the duration of
Cannabis prohibition imposes on all creatures.
If anyone can tell me one good reason not to grow Cannabis, then I'll stop
growing it. In the absence of reason to the contrary and government
accountability, I judge for myself that I and everyone else has the immutable
right to farm Mother Nature's best.
I trust that by this time next year, planting Cannabis for food and medicine,
fuel and paper, cloth and building materials, paints and varnishes, oil and
animal feed, erosion control, windbreaks and soil regeneration, wildlife forage
and cover, as a companion and rotational crop... in the United States, or
anywhere else on this Water Planet, will not be commonly thought of as
"illegal" anymore. 42, 43, 45
It is just too evolutionarily uninspiring to continue flaccid thinking about
Cannabis (conceivably caused by acute oxygen deficiency, as breathable gases
in the global atmosphere dwindle). Radical measures are needed to heal human
society and this planet, before we discover that both are beyond saving.
That man's self - destructive, purely unreasoned prohibition
of such a generous, ancient being could last so long,
is an embarrassingly revealing comment on how
primitive and clumsy mankind's social patterns
really are.
Conclusion
Any Natural resource critical to survival cannot be Lawfully prohibited.
Extreme intransigence by morally disoriented governments is known to be
causal to increasing violence, engulfing our civilization. A spiritless, angry
society, swimming in a toxic stew of petrochemicals and radioactive waste is
an unacceptable existence to leave All Our Relations foundering in. 59, 6041
