COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 307 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 6, SECTION 24 -287, <br />SCHEDULE 35 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), <br />RELATING TO PASSENGER LOADING ZONES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. This proposed loading zone will provide a designated loading /unloading <br />area for the Connections Public Charter School and will be in effect each school day. The loading <br />zone consists of converting eleven (11) Kamehameha Avenue storefront parking stalls to an aisle to <br />be used for student drop off. School employees will be responsible for the setup and dismantling of <br />the loading zone each school day. The loading zone, which will be in operation prior to the opening <br />of any of the shops in the area, received the support of the Downtown Improvement Association. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 6, section 24 -287, schedule 35. <br />Passenger loading zones, paragraph (c), South Hilo, is amended by adding the following new item <br />and renumbering as required: <br />"( ) Kamehameha Avenue storefront parking lot southwest (mauka) side one <br />hundred sixty -six feet northwest of Haili Street and extending one hundred fifty-six feet in the <br />northwesterly direction between the hours of 6.00 a.m. and 8.00 a.m. on school days only. <br />SECTION 3. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring <br />need not be included. <br />SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br />to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or <br />
