WHEREAS, Three Ring Ranch, Inc., also provides an after-school program for students <br />to learn basic animal care and conservation in hopes that these students will become mentors and <br />eventually teach others the skills that they have learned; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br />WHEREAS, the responsibility of animal control is contracted out by the Hawaii Police <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to <br />the Hawaii Police Department to provide a grant to Three Ring Ranch, Inc., for its educational <br />programs: $5,000 for the Pre -Veterinary Animal Behavior Studies program and $5,000 for the <br />after-school program; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $10,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $10,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.201.5203.02 Hawaii Police Department <br />Police Adm Div -OCE <br />115 Misc.
