WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of North Hawaii will be spearheading this restoration <br />project by cleaning, mowing, trimming, planting, and repairing and /or extending the irrigation <br />lines to bring the park back to soccer -field standards; and <br />WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of North Hawaii is requesting funds for the purchase of <br />tools, equipment, compost, fuel, and other supplies to support the restoration efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, this volunteer -driven project will bring the community together to reclaim <br />the soccer fields and for the Waimea Cherry Blossom Festival; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2- 139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department /agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to <br />the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Rotary Club of North <br />Hawaii for the Minuke`ole Park restoration and cherry blossom tree beautification project; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred /appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: GENERAL <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $5,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk- Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.161.5162.98 Department of Research & Development <br />HI Cty Resource Center <br />115 Misc.
