Sako <br />Deputy Director <br />The Department of Public Works is requesting to add an appropriation to Ordinance 14 -82, the <br />Capital Budget, for Lower Puna Lava Response Projects. This item is being established to account <br />for the costs of repairs, restoration, rebuilding, maintenance and/or improvement to County <br />infrastructure to ensure the County is able to respond to disasters and emergencies and to protect <br />public health and safety. <br />Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to add the project titled "Lower Puna Lava Response Projects" <br />and to appropriate $20,000,000 to the Capital Budget. <br />The Department of Public Works requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and <br />be placed on the January 7, 2015 Council agenda due to the time sensitive nature of this matter.
