This rezoning request is to support the existing development to the <br />south (Orchid Isle Auto Center). A condition of approval will be added requiring the <br />applicant to consolidate the property with the existing adjoining commercial Orchid Isle <br />Auto Center property to further ensure connectivity. <br />Based on the above discussion, it has been determined that the proposed change of <br />zone request from an A -la to a CV -10 zoning district would result in a more appropriate <br />land use pattern that that will further the public necessity and convenience and general <br />welfare, that the request is consistent with the applicable goals, policies and standards of <br />the General Plan, and is consistent with the Kona Community Development Plan. <br />For your favorable consideration, an amendment to Section 25 -8 -3 (North Kona District Zone <br />Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) of the Hawaii County Code is transmitted. <br />We are enclosing copies of the staff Background, Planning Director's Recommendation, <br />Powerpoint presentation and the transcript of the hearing for your information. <br />Sincerely, <br />Brandi K.
