REQUEST: <br /> An ordinance amending Ordinance 15-58, the Capital Budget, by increasing the Mamalahoa <br /> Highway (Route 19) Widening, in the following amounts: <br /> Mamalahoa Highway (Route 19) Widening <br /> (Mud Lane to Marla Road); f.k.a. (Mud Lane to North Hawai`i Community Hospital) <br /> Federal portion (total): $ 640,000.00 <br /> County portion (total): $ 142,000.00 <br /> State portion (total): $ 18,000.00 <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> This project has been expanded to improve the following: <br /> 1 . A total of eighteen (18) intersections, by widening and adding left-turn pockets, <br /> . along the Mamalahoa Highway, in the town of Waimea, South Kohala, Hawaii. <br /> 2. Repair the failing roadway along the Mamalahoa Highway, from Maria Road to <br /> Puu Nani Drive. <br /> This is an increase in theiappropriation to allow the consultant design services. The <br /> additional $640,000 appropriation for Federal funding is needed for the planning, <br /> design and engineering of the project. The County's matching funding, for the same <br /> will be $142,000.
